A full strip out and rebuild in Rhoose CF62, created with a natural stone patio, slatted timber fencing and decorative gravel for a sharper, lower-maintenance garden.
What Defined This Rhoose Garden Renovation
This Rhoose garden needed a complete reset. Cooksey stripped the space back and rebuilt it with stronger structure, cleaner lines and materials that made the garden easier to live with.
The aim was to create a modern garden makeover without making the space feel crowded. A natural stone patio, slatted timber fencing and decorative gravel gave the garden shape, contrast and everyday use.
Starting Point
The garden no longer gave the homeowner the look or use they wanted. The space needed old elements removed, the layout reconsidered and the new surfaces planned properly from the ground up.
A simple refresh would not have gone far enough. The project needed a full garden strip out and rebuild, with the main areas designed to feel more practical, more modern and easier to maintain.

What Needed Solving
The garden needed a better balance between seating space, boundaries and low-maintenance areas. It also needed materials that could give the space a more considered look without adding unnecessary upkeep.
The fencing had to improve the boundary and sharpen the overall style of the garden. The patio needed to create a stronger usable area, while the decorative gravel helped reduce maintenance and bring the layout together.
What We Built
Cooksey completed a full garden renovation with a natural stone patio, slatted timber fencing and decorative gravel.
Decorative gravel helped reduce exposed maintenance areas and gave the garden a sharper contrast against the patio and fencing. The RHS gravel gardens guide is also useful for homeowners thinking about planting around gravel and keeping the space easier to manage.
The patio gave the homeowner a practical area for outdoor seating and daily use. Natural stone helped give the space a more premium feel while keeping the layout simple and usable.
Slatted timber fencing added privacy, structure and a more modern look around the garden. Decorative gravel helped frame the space, reduce exposed maintenance areas and create a cleaner contrast against the patio and fencing.

The Result
The completed garden now feels sharper, easier to use and much simpler to maintain. The combination of natural stone, slatted timber and decorative gravel gave the space a modern look without overcomplicating the layout.
It is a strong example of how a garden renovation in Rhoose can turn a tired outdoor area into a practical, low-maintenance garden with better structure and more everyday value.
